Open Eligibility Events
White/Blue Tee 18 Holes (Gross) – Individual stroke play event with no handicap allowance. Your score is the best (lowest) individual gross score on each hole. Individuals can play either blue or white tees and submit scores for each respective tee. You must specify which tees you are playing before the round.
White/Blue Tee 18 Holes (Net) (Full Handicap) – Individual stroke play event and 100% full handicap. Your score is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole. Individuals can play either blue or white tees and submit scores for each respective tee. You must specify which tees you are playing before the round.
White/Blue Tee Stableford (Net) (Full Handicap) – Individual stroke play event and 100% full handicap. Your score is based on the following format: (Bogey=1 pt), (Par=2pts), (Birdie=3pts), (Eagle=4pts), (Double Eagle=5 pts).

As example, if you score a 5 on a Par 4 hole and for handicap purposes you get a 1 stroke on that hole, then your gross bogey (5) is a net par (4) and you would record 2 points for that Stableford hole. Your total score is the cumulative points for all 18 holes.
Please note, that even though Stableford is a form of stoke play, you get 0 points for a Double Bogey or worse. In this case and this case only, you may stop playing a hole after double bogey for pace of play, but still need to record that score in GHIN for handicap purposes.
White/Blue Tee 18 Holes (Net) (Three Flights) – Individual stroke play event and 100% full handicap. Your score is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole. Individuals can play either blue or white tees and submit scores for each respective tee. You must specify which tees you are playing before the round. You will compete against specific individuals (members) who are in the following flights (see chart). Individuals should note their specific flight marked on the scorecard prior to tee-off. The handicap flights are A (0-14), B (15-19) and C (19+).
White/Blue Tee Two-Man Best Ball (Net) (Full Handicap) – Two players comprise a team. Each player, Player A & Player B, play his own ball throughout the tournament. This is a stroke play event with 100% handicap. Team score is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole for the group. Net strokes "fall" according to hole rankings with full handicap allowance (100%).
Strokes should be marked on the scorecard by the team captain prior to tee-off. Teams can play either blue or white tees and submit scores accordingly. You must declare your tee preference prior to playing this round. If you are an individual looking for a partner, please let us know well in advance and we’ll try to partner individuals looking for a game.
Specialty Tournament
ABCD Scramble (Closing Event) – This is the last event of the year. There will be four-man teams assigned via blind draw in the ABCD format. The scramble format requires each player to hit a drive. The team then picks the best drive, and all players then play from that spot, continuing to play the team's best shot in this format to finish each hole. Teams can follow the standard scramble rules:

-
Putts need to be placed within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.
-
You may lift, clean and place your ball within one club length on the selected shot; however, you may not move your ball out of a hazard (including bunkers), out of the rough, from the fairway or rough to the apron or from the apron to the green
Each player is required to hit a minimum number of two drives. Prizes are awarded for both Gross & Net Teams in each 4 team categories.

White/Blue Lone Ranger/Devil Ball. (Net) - This is a two-person team event. You need to get a marked, yellow ball from the pro-shop before you start the round. The Lone Ranger tournament format is a fun game. On every hole one player in the twosome is assigned to be the Lone Ranger. On the first hole, the player, Player A in position 1 in the pairings will act as the Lone Ranger. On the 2nd hole, the 2nd partner, Player B is the Lone Ranger and then it goes back and forth on each hole.
When playing this format, you will count the Lone Ranger's ball as the score for the team on a net 100%, full handicap basis. You must immediately return the ball back to the pro-shop after the round. If a team member loses the yellow ball, then the group is out of the tournament. However, you must finish the round and submit your score for handicap purposes. It is your requirement as all scores need to be posted if you play these tournaments.
White/Blue 3 Club Tournament (Net) – This is an individual stroke play event and 100% full handicap. Individuals must play with only three declared clubs at the beginning of the round. Please ensure anyone attesting the round knows which three clubs you are using and inform someone before the round for verification.
Unfortunately, if one of the three clubs break during the round, according to the rules of golf you must play with your remaining two clubs only. Your score is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole. Individuals can play either blue or white tees and submit scores for each respective tee. You must specify which tees you are playing before the round.
White/Blue Two Man Odd/Even (Net) – This is a two-man event which is 100% full handicap. Player A or the person with the lower handicap plays the odd holes. Player B is the higher handicap partner will play the even holes. The team captain will record the net score of the individual responsible for each hole.
White/Blue Two Man Trifecta (Net) – This is a two-man 6-hole scramble, a 6-hole alternative shot & 6-hole best ball event. For hole 1-6, it is a scramble, so each player, Player A and Player B hit a drive and then continue to play the best shot in that format to finish the hole. The team score on these holes is the best gross score on the hole.
For hole 7-12, it is an alternate shot format, so Players A and B continue to partner with each other in this format. You should decide among yourselves who tees off first on the first hole. If Player A hits the opening tee ball, then Player B hits the second shot. The third stroke is played by Player A, then Player B hits the fourth. You must alternate hitting shots until the ball is in the hole. The team score on these holes is the best gross score on the hole.
For hole 13-18, it is best ball format, so each player plays his own ball throughout these final holes. The score for these holes is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole.

Major Events
Battle for Tully Cup – This is a new tournament for us this year. Welcome to our Ryder Cup-like event for Oak Hills Men’s Club!! We will have two Captain’s driven by our Two Club Pros. The field will be chosen by handicap, and we expect 18 individuals per side or 36 individuals in total. The team captains will decide who plays and set up the specific player scheduling.
The format for the round is Hole 1-6 is a Team Scramble, Hole 7-12 is Team Best Ball Match Play and Hole 13-18 is Singles Match Play. The first 1-6 holes will consist of three teams of four (six members of Team A and six members of Team B), The next six holes 7-12 will be three teams of four for Match Play (another six members of Team A and another six members of Team B). Finally, the final Holes 13-18 will include all 18 members on Team A and Team B to play these holes. The first team that gets to 12 ½ points will win the Tully Cup. This event will be a net handicapped basis.
Club Championship – This event is our most important tournament of the season. It is played as a match play event. Sign up is required for the Club Championship and is segmented into 5 flights by INDEX handicap: Championship, A, B, C and D. The Championship Flight is generally for handicaps 0-9. Tee times will be made for the matches on assigned dates for the matches. Please do not sign up if you can’t make the dates for matches. All these matches are played on a gross basis, inside each flight, played from the blue tees.
Governor’s Cup - This is a major event and is year-long, played as our premier team match play event of the year. The match is a 2-man best ball match with handicap allowance. Handicap is determined by playing off the low player in the match handicap and then take 80 % of the difference between the players.
As an example: Team 1, Player A has a handicap of 10 and Player B has a handicap of 20. Team 2, Player A has a handicap of 18 and Player B has a handicap of 19. For the match, Team 1, Player A plays as a 0, Player B (his partner) is a 10-stroke difference x 0.8= 8 so he gets 8 strokes. Team 2, Player A is 8 stroke different x 0.8 = 6, so he gets 6 strokes and player B is 9 stroke different x 0.8 = 7, so he gets 7 strokes.
The matches are scheduled by the players and must be played by the dates on the brackets. All matches played from the blue tees.
Member/Member – New for us this year, we are proposing a one-day event: two-man 9-hole scramble and then a 9-hole alternative shot. For holes 1-9, it is a scramble, so each player hits a drive and then continues to play the best shot in that format to finish the hole. Typically Scramble rules apply to the Member/Member for putts & one club length. For holes 10-18, it is alternate shot, so Players A and B partner with one another on an alternate shot team. You should decide among yourselves who tees off first on the first hole. If Player A hits the opening tee ball, then Player B hits the second shot. The third stroke is played by Player A, then Player B hits the fourth. You must alternate hitting shots until the ball is in the hole.
Please note you must also alternate hitting tee shots, so since if Player A hit the drive on the first hole, on the second hole Player B tees off, and so on throughout the round.
Scoring by the Team Captain is on a net and gross basis so record the best score gross and best score net for the team. Prizes are awarded on net and gross basis. The entry fee is to be determined and handicaps for net purposes will be 85% per new USGA rules.
Oak Hills Cup – This tournament rewards our Oak Hills’ Player of the Year. Points are awarded all year from weekly and major tournaments. This tournament is considered our premier individual stoke play event of the year. You should see the total point standing on our Golf Genius system for all the people who have competed.
Our Oak Hills Cup is a cumulative, three-round, individual stroke play event with 80% handicap allowance. Your score for a given round is the best (lowest) individual net score for each hole. Individuals must play from blue tees for this championship.
The top 60 and ties from the yearly point allotment are eligible to play in the first round. Only the top 32 individuals and ties move onto the 2nd round after the first cut. Again, competitors must play and post scores on an individual stroke play basis for round 2 from the blue tees.
The final round takes place after a second cut and only is for the top 16 players and ties from Round 2. The winner ultimate is the lowest aggregate, three round net score to par and recipient of the Oak Hills Cup, also considered player of the year!
President Cup – This event is played as a two-round cumulative stroke play event. This is a like a PGA tour-like event with multiple rounds and you should look at it as such. It is 100% full handicap, so the scoring is on a net basis. Your score is the best (lowest) individual net score on each hole. Individuals must play from the blue tees only. Recognition goes to the players who have the lowest net score.
Shoreline Tournament - The Shoreline is an annual event played among local clubs to Oak Hills Park. The tournament is an 18-hole Net event and one of the competitors hosts the tournament for a given year. We typically need 7 players who are between 0-10 handicap and 7 players who are between 11-20 handicap. If more than 14 players are interested, then we will do a mini qualifier to determine who will represent us. The event has a separate cost typically around $100 that pay for golf, cart, lunch and a raffle. This is a great event to represent Oak Hill Park Men’s Club!
Besides Oak Hills, the participating golf clubs include Alling Memorial, E. Gaynor Brennan, Fairchild Wheeler, H. Smith Richardson Longshore and Sterling Farms.
